Birding Kakamega is a mid-altitude tropical rainforest part of Congo Basin Forest in the far east situated in Kenya with tropical residents such as Black-faced Rufous Warbler, Chapin’s Flycatcher, Great Blue Turaco, Crowned Eagle, Yellow-mantled Widowbird, White-chinned Prinia, Turner’s Eremomela, Green Hylia, Red-headed Bluebill, Uganda Woodland Warbler, Yellow-bellied Hyliota, African Broadbill, Snowy-headed Robin-Chat, Vieillot’s Black Weaver, Olive-Green Camaroptera, Luhder’s Bush-Shrike, Black-crowned Waxbill, Mackinnon’s Fiscal, White-spotted Flufftail, Dusky Tit, Hairy-breasted Barbet, Green-throated Sunbird, White-breasted Negrofinch, Yellow-crested Woodpecker, among other birds. We shall also have a birding experience along the shores of Lake Victoria for more waterbird expeditions. The 12 days of bird-watching exploration also takes to the vast plains of Maasai Mara. It is recommendable to travel during the month of October to February for a better bird watching experience; however, the tour is available throughout the year and can be fully customized in regards to your needs and preferences.
