Climate: Uganda has a tropical climate, apart from in the mountainous areas, which are much cooler; the top of Mount Elgon is often covered with snow. The hottest months are December to February. Evenings can feel chilly after the heat of the day.

Getting Around: hiring a 4WD is the best way to get around Uganda. Most people hire a driver, but it’s becoming more common for tourists to get around the national parks on their own, especially those experienced at bush driving and self-sufficient with repairs.
